Get ready to explore the very best of Australian winemaking as celebrated wine critic Matthew Jukes brings his legendary 100 Best Australian Wines Festival to York. This is your chance to savour a handpicked selection of Australia’s finest bottles — from crisp, elegant whites to rich, full-bodied reds and everything in between.

Few people know Australian wine like Matthew Jukes. With over 35 years in the UK wine industry, 14 acclaimed books, over 2000 wine articles in the UK national press, and five highly respected annual reports to his name, he’s regarded as one of the world’s most influential wine writers. His 100 Best Australian Wines Report is internationally recognised and followed closely by wine lovers and professionals worldwide.

Each year, Matthew tastes an astonishing 5,000 Australian wines, curating the very best 100 — a list that spans great-value everyday wines through to outstanding fine wines. At the Festival, you’ll be able to taste around 50 of these top selections, featuring sparkling, white, red, and fortified wines. With bottles ranging from £10 to well over £100, this is a rare chance to sample wines of exceptional quality and diversity.

The event begins at 4 pm, and you’ll have three hours to enjoy this walk-around tasting experience. Chat directly with Matthew Jukes and winery representatives, discover new favourites, and deepen your appreciation of Australian winemaking in a relaxed and sociable setting.
As a bonus, ticket holders receive 10% off dinner in our restaurant after the event. The perfect way to round off your afternoon of tasting. Bookings only.

Tickets are £35 per person, and demand is always high, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
